Summary

Siemens Healthineers is a global healthcare technology leader operating across imaging, laboratory diagnostics and healthcare IT. At OpenSlava 2025 in Bratislava, the company wanted to present its medical innovation in a way that would resonate with a demanding technology audience: developers, IT leaders and innovation managers at a flagship conference on emerging technologies.

Instead of relying on static visuals or conventional digital signage solutions, Siemens Healthineers looked for a way to make complex diagnostic technology instantly understandable and memorable. They wanted visitors to see and explore human organs and diagnostic devices in three dimensions, without headsets, apps or long onboarding.

To achieve this, Siemens Healthineers chose norriv, a Slovak pioneer in holographic technology. Together we created an interactive holographic experience built around the compact Hologram Box S, where visitors could interact with high quality 3D visualizations of human organs and Siemens Healthineers diagnostic systems.

The Hologram Box became:

  • A visual magnet that continuously pulled people toward the booth.
  • A hands-on demo that turned complex diagnostics into an intuitive 3D experience.
  • A reusable holographic asset that Siemens Healthineers can take to future events and adapt for different audiences.

The result was a stand that attracted a constant flow of visitors, enabled deeper conversations and clearly positioned Siemens Healthineers as an innovation leader at OpenSlava 2025.

The challenge: Make complex diagnostics tangible in a crowded tech conference

OpenSlava brings together technology professionals, startups and global brands. In such an environment, every booth competes for a very limited window of attention. For Siemens Healthineers, this created several concrete challenges.

1. Complex subject matter
Advanced diagnostics, imaging and lab systems are:

  • Large and highly specialized.
  • Impossible to bring physically onto an event floor.
  • Difficult to explain quickly using only print materials or flat screens.

Traditional roll-ups, static renders or slides make it hard to show how these technologies work with the human body and how they fit into real clinical workflows.

2. Limited booth space
The stand needed to:

  • Fit into a compact footprint.
  • Communicate breadth and depth of the Siemens Healthineers portfolio.
  • Avoid large physical models or multi-screen structures that would complicate logistics and setup.

Any solution had to be physically small but visually strong.

3. Friction in conventional immersive tools
Typical AR or VR setups can be impressive, but they often:

  • Require headsets, apps or additional hardware.
  • Slow down visitor traffic when each demo needs a guided explanation.
  • Increase hygiene and operational complexity at busy events.

Siemens Healthineers needed an augmented reality alternative that stayed open and accessible, while still delivering a futuristic display and immersive technology feel.

4. Business outcomes, not just wow effect
Beyond visual impact, the event team was focused on:

  • Attracting the right profiles (developers, data professionals, decision-makers).
  • Enabling more meaningful discussions about innovation in diagnostics.
  • Supporting employer branding in front of a technology-focused audience.
  • Creating reusable content and a scalable format for future events.

The challenge was clear: find a compact, repeatable solution that could serve as a next-gen marketing tool, connect instantly with visitors and help tell the Siemens Healthineers innovation story through interactive holograms.

Solution: Hologram Box S with interactive 3D visualization of organs and devices

To address these needs, Siemens Healthineers selected norriv Hologram Box S, a 21.5" holographic projection system designed for counters, info desks and smaller spaces. The unit combines a Full HD display, integrated media player, touch capability and built-in speakers in a compact 580 × 310 × 250 mm body weighing only 10 kg - ideal for tight event layouts.

The solution was built in three main layers: content, interaction and deployment.

1. High quality 3D holographic content

Based on Siemens Healthineers input assets and medical references, our 3D team:

  • Prepared detailed 3D models of selected human organs (for example heart, brain, lungs) and related diagnostic devices.
  • Created high quality 3D animations that clearly showed structure, motion and the relationship between organs and technology.
  • Optimized all assets specifically for holographic projection so that depth, contrast and motion remained clear even at close viewing distances.

This combination of holographic technology and 3D visualization made it possible to show, in seconds, how advanced diagnostics interact with the human body. Instead of talking in abstract terms, booth staff could point directly to the hologram and build their story around what visitors saw inside the Hologram Box.

2. Intuitive interactive hologram experience

On top of the visual layer, we designed a simple interactive flow that any visitor could understand immediately. Through the touch interface on the Hologram Box S, visitors could:

  • Select a specific organ from a clear on-screen menu.
  • Rotate and zoom the 3D hologram to explore it from different angles.
  • Trigger short animated sequences showing how Siemens Healthineers diagnostic systems support diagnosis and treatment planning.

Key principles of the interaction design:

  • No instructions needed - the interface relied on familiar gestures and clear labels.
  • Short and modular steps - each interaction could be completed in under a minute, fitting typical event behavior.
  • Flexible use - visitors could explore it themselves or use it together with a Siemens Healthineers expert as part of a live explanation.

This turned the Hologram Box into more than a digital signage solution. It became a holographic presentation tool that linked visual impact with a practical explanation of technology.

3. Turnkey deployment and reusability

From implementation side, norriv delivered a full-service solution:

  • Content preparation and testing on production hardware before the event.
  • On-site installation and calibration of the Hologram Box S at the Siemens Healthineers booth.
  • Training for booth staff on basic operation, content switching and using the hologram in their conversations.

Equally important, the setup was designed for reuse:

  • The same Hologram Box S can be deployed at other conferences, university events and internal meetings.
  • Content can be extended with additional organs, devices or scenario-based animations as needed.
  • Siemens Healthineers now has a portable holographic asset that supports both marketing and education.

In this way, the OpenSlava project became not only a one-time activation, but also the foundation for a broader set of interactive holographic marketing solutions within Siemens Healthineers.

Results: Higher engagement, better conversations and stronger brand positioning

The interactive hologram quickly became the visual focal point of the Siemens Healthineers booth at OpenSlava 2025.

1. Stronger attraction and stand visibility

Compared to surrounding booths relying on flat displays or print, the combination of:

  • Floating 3D organs and devices,
  • Compact hologram box on the counter, and
  • Continuous motion inside the display

created a clear differentiation. People noticed the hologram from a distance, slowed down and naturally moved toward the stand. The Hologram Box functioned as a stand magnet, turning passing traffic into engaged visitors.

2. Better quality conversations

From the perspective of the local team, one of the most valuable outcomes was the change in how conversations started. Instead of beginning with generic introductions, staff could open with what visitors were seeing:

  • "This is how our diagnostic system interacts with the heart."
  • "Let me show you how this organ looks in 3D and where our technology fits."

The hologram helped:

  • Shorten the time to relevance - discussion moved faster to concrete use cases.
  • Engage technical profiles who appreciated a clear, visual explanation.
  • Support interactive customer engagement, as visitors asked more specific questions based on what they explored in the hologram.

The result was fewer superficial interactions and more conversations with real depth around innovation, technology and impact.

3. Support for employer branding and innovation positioning

OpenSlava is a key touchpoint for developers, engineers and data professionals. For this audience, the holographic technology demonstrated that:

  • Healthcare is an advanced, visually compelling technology field.
  • Siemens Healthineers connects software, hardware and real patient impact.
  • The company is willing to experiment with next-gen marketing tools such as 3D hologram displays for events.

This supported both:

  • Innovation positioning in front of partners and clients.
  • Employer branding, especially for profiles used to seeing cutting-edge solutions in other industries.

This aligns with independent research showing that 68% of immersive experience attendees report a stronger emotional connection to brands, and 72% of consumers are willing to pay more for a premium experience - precisely the kind of perception Siemens Healthineers aims to create in healthcare technology.

4. Long-term value beyond a single event

The Hologram Box S installation was also documented and shared through Siemens Healthineers communication channels, extending the reach beyond visitors who were physically present at OpenSlava.

Because the hardware and content are modular, Siemens Healthineers can now:

  • Reuse the hologram at future conferences, career events and internal showcases.
  • Expand the content library with new organs, devices or storytelling angles.
  • Build a consistent holographic presence that strengthens brand perception over time.

In summary, the project delivered:

  • Higher stand visibility in a crowded tech conference.
  • More meaningful and visually supported conversations with key audience segments.
  • A scalable, portable holographic asset that continues to generate value.

Conclusion and next steps
